Check road conditions before leaving town!

We want you to travel carefully and safely!  You should always check road conditions when planning a drive to your affiliations outside the metro area.

You can do this at, the website run by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). They have detailed descriptions of road conditions, updated by CDOT workers and highway patrol officers working on the scene.  They also have a network of live web-cams on highways all over the state.

At the CDOT website, you can also sign up for text-message alerts to be sent directly to your phone – just click this link to sign up for email and text-message alerts on Colorado road conditions.  Note – when you’re signing up, you won’t see a place to type your phone number until you click the checkbox that says “Send wireless alerts to this address.”  When you click that box, a place to type your phone number will appear.

And remember, if you’re ever concerned about road conditions and feel you need to delay a drive back to your affiliation community, simply call your preceptor’s cell phone number and talk with him/her about it!
