Colorado dental students Michael Fiala and Natalie Lesinski made a recent trip Washington, D.C. with the American Student Dental Association to participate in the National Dental Student Lobby Day.
Planned by ASDA April 7-8, 2014, National Dental Student Lobby Day brought more than 375 ASDA members from across the country to network, develop lobbying skills and meet with members of Congress.
Fiala and Lesinski met with two members of the Colorado delegation, Representative Mike Coffman and Representative Jared Polis, along with Representative Paul Gosar from Arizona. Among the issues discussed with legislators were S. 1066 FEderal Loan Refinancing Act, H.R. 1527 Federal Student Loan Refinancing Act, and S. 466/H.R. 963 Coordination of Pro Bono Medically Recommended Dental Care Act.
Thank you both for representing the Colorado ASDA chapter and your school. National Dental Student Lobby Day was sponsored by the American Dental Political Action Committee, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Education Association, Medical Protective, and Patterson Dental.
