3rd Annual GEM Scholarship Golf Tournament

Scratch golfer, novice or somewhere in between, all are welcome to play in the 3rd Annual GEM Scholarship Golf Tournament. This year the tournament will be held at the Colorado National Golf Course on Friday, June 21, 2013. It will be a shotgun start promptly at 8:00 am, so please arrive early.

This friendly competition consists of a four-man scramble team and is a great opportunity to show off your golf prowess and raise money for future GEM Students. Please bring your friends, your boss, your co-workers and your golf game. All proceeds benefit our GEM Scholarship Fund.

The golf tournament will be a morning of lively competition, and camaraderie. Prizes will be awarded at the lunch reception following the match at the clubhouse. Prizes will be awarded for; shortest drive, longest drive, closet to the pin, best dressed and overall score.

You can register as an individual or a 4-man team. The cost is $90 per player, $360 for a full team. We will have a raffle of great prizes, and mulligans for sale so don’t forget to bring your giving spirit.

Spots are limited so register today! (You do not need to be a current GEM student or alumni to play.)

GEM Nike Golf Shirts are also available to purchase in black, white, green or blue. Each shirt is $55 plus tax. Your shirt will be available the day of the Tournament if you order during registration before May 30th.

  • 4 Player SCRAMBLE, team must create its own name.
    • If you do not enter a team list, you will be placed with others.
    • All players in the group tee off.
  • The best drive is then selected and all players bring their golf balls to that point.
  • All players hit their next shot from that point. The ball can be placed within one club length from the ball selected; no closer to the hole under the same condition e.g, a ball in the rough cannot be moved to the fairway.
  • Play progresses in this same manner until the ball is holed out. Only one score is written down for the team.
  • On the green, all players putt from the best point selected by placing their ball within 6 inches of the point selected, but no closer to the hole. First ball in counts.
  • Gentlemen will play from the White tees. Ladies will play from the Red tees. Seniors (65+) may play from the Gold, except for longest drive, and closest to pin.
  • You must use each players drive at least once.
  • If your group has only 3 players, one player will take an extra shot on each hole. The player taking the extra shot should rotate among the 3 players in your group.
  • Mulligans will be sold for $10 each, with a max of 2 per player. Mulligans may not be used on prize hole shots.

  • Please remember that we are guests of the golf course and are subject to all the rules of the club.
  • Please fill all divots and repair ball marks on the greens.
  • Signed Scorecards to be turned into Sarah Derdowski at the end of play back at the clubhouse.
  • Please limit time looking for lost balls as to not hold up teams behind you.
  • Lost balls are out of play until next hit on that hole, unless all 4 balls are lost, than you may drop at furthest ball and add a stroke to score for that hole.
  • A fun time is mandatory for everyone.

  • Please submit your approx. score for 18-holes
(to ensure teams are evenly matched)
