Getting your MS Accounting Degree Opportunities

The Business School has an opportunity to help current CU Denver undergraduate accounting students to continue your studies and add a graduate MS Accounting degree to your resume.

BS/MS Accounting 4+1 Degree Design

The BS/MS Accounting 4+1 degree program allows you to complete the BS and MS degrees in as little as 5 years through substituting two graduate courses for two undergraduate courses. The two graduate courses count towards both the BS and MS Accounting degrees.

If you are considering this BS/MS Accounting 4+1 degree program, it is important to contact your undergraduate advisor as soon as possible, preferably no later than your sophomore term, so that you can appropriately plan your coursework.

Admissions

Students who are interested in the 4+1 degree option apply to the MS Accounting program when they have one academic year remaining in their Bachelor degree. In addition, they must have successfully completed the intermediate accounting sequence (ACCT 3220, ACCT3230, ACCT 3320). Please Note: When applying to the MS program, be sure to select a start semester which occurs after completion of your undergraduate degree.

MS Accounting GMAT Waiver

Thinking about applying to our 4+1 program? If you are a current undergraduate Accounting student at CU Denver, you may be able to bypass the GMAT admission test requirement.

Requirements for waiving the GMAT

If a CU Denver business student has a 3.25 or higher GPA in completed undergraduate accounting courses at the time of application to this program, they may request to have the GMAT waived by contacting the Business School Graduate Admissions team at bschool.admissions@ucdenver.edu

What you will need to do:
  • Send an email to bschool.admissions@ucdenver.edu requesting a waiver of the GMAT admission test
  • When applying to the MS program, be sure to select a start semester which occurs after the completion of your undergraduate degree.
