Students will experience the rich cultural history of urban and rural Cuba, while gaining an understanding of the complex political and economic system of one of our closest neighbors as it tries to embrace normalized relations with the world’s largest economy. Visits to the Cuban countryside, the University of Havana, the US Embassy, a tobacco farm, a walking tour of “The Old City” will be wrapped around presentations by a Cuban economists, entrepreneurs and artists for a fascinating 11 days.

The purpose of this course is to learn more about the global sports and entertainment management industry by experiencing it directly. rough two weeks of visiting organizations and talking with industry experts in London students will be exposed to new ideas and practices in this exciting field.
Tentative site visits include: Chelsea Football Club, All England Lawn Tennis Club/Wimbledon, NFL UK, Twickenham / Rugby Football Union, Lord's Cricket Ground, The O2 Arena, Film & Theatre Production, The BBC, and the UK Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

CU Denver in Ireland: Leadership and Entrepreurship
What will it take to put the US and Europe back on track? The unique circumstances that created the Celtic Tiger of the 1990’s, with the challenges of the 2000’s Great Recession, provides a tremendous opportunity for students to study leadership and entrepreneurship at the hub of global expansion. Students will be immersed in the culture of the Republic of Ireland in Dublin with excursions to Belfast in Northern Ireland. Students will gain key insights on cultural differences; what they mean, where they come from, and understanding one’s own cultural characteristics. Students will work in teams on a specific project in Dublin or the surrounding area.
Through real projects, students will gain a first-hand overview of key leadership principles for creating strategy and managing teams in new and international ventures. We will also introduce leadership concepts critical to gaining true organizational commitment, and focus on case studies relevant to international business and entrepreneurial issues. With a project-based exploration of international entrepreneurial opportunities, students will examine the principles of strategic planning, and how visionary leadership is required to develop an organization that executes a global strategy through measurable goals and objectives.

CU Denver in China: Window on China
Learn through a combination of lectures by CU Denver faculty, guest lectures, field trips, and seminars with experts on each day's topics. Visit US-China joint venture operations as well as other foreign-invested companies for chance to interview their managers.
The Window on China is complemented by excursions consisting of multiple business, government and cultural sites that help meet the main objective of the course, which revolves around a prominent relationship between the U.S and China.
