Clinical Science Course Schedules*
*The University of Colorado Clinical Science program courses are open only to ColoradoSPH students enrolled in the PhD-Health Services Research program.
Permission to withdraw from a course after the add/drop period requires the approval of the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. Tuition refunds for course withdrawals that occur after the add/drop deadline will only be granted in cases involving one of the following documented extenuating circumstances:
- Unexpected illness
- A death or crisis in the family
- Unexpected change in work schedules
Core Course Schedules and Equivalences
There have been some changes in which semesters the core MPH courses are offered. Students should check and plan carefully to make sure that they are able to complete all of these courses before they graduate. The table below shows the relevant courses across the three partner campuses and the semesters that they will be offered in the 2017-2018 year. These are subject to change in future years. CSPH students may take these core courses at any of the partner campuses as long as they complete at least 24 total credits at their home campus.

MPH students may be eligible to waive one or more of the core courses by taking and passing a comprehensive examination in the core course topic area. If the exam is passed, the number of hours required for the degree remains the same. Passing this exam allows the student to take 3 additional elective credits. Students are strongly encouraged to take another course in the same topic area. Exams will be scheduled the week prior to the start of fall semester only.

When is registration?

What courses will be offered this semester?
Course offerings are published and updated throughout the academic year. Students should review the course schedules listed above. Dates, times, and course locations are subject to change. Students should speak with their faculty advisory when selecting courses and building a degree plan.
Where will or can I take my classes?
As a collaborative school, classes are offered at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado State University in Fort Collins, and the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Students generally take courses at their primary hose campus based on their program and area of study (concentration or focus area), however students may elect to take additional courses at any location.
Can I take online courses?
The Colorado School of Public Health offers select courses in the hybrid format - a majority of course work is accessible online with limited in class meetings. The school may also offer select courses in the online format - all course work and material is accessible online. The course schedule will indicate if a course is offered in the online or hybrid format.
Can I audit a course?
Students are not allowed to audit a Colorado School of Public Health course. A student who is officially accepted into a degree or program may register for a course with "no credit" but the student will still be required to pay the associated tuition and fees. Students must designate "no credit" either at the time of registration or during the Add/Drop period. "No credit" forms are available on the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs Forms webpage.
How do I register as a non-degree student?
Individuals interested in taking a Colorado School of Public Health course as a non-degree student need to complete the "non-degree student application".
