​Activity Purpose

​This interactive evidence-based activity examines the best-practices and universal precautions for treating chronic pain and reviews the guidelines for assessing patients, developing a comprehensive treatment plan, initiating an opioid trial and regimen, monitoring patients and strategies to manage the risk of opioid abuse, overdose, and diversion.

This training is hosted on our eLearning site, CrowdWisdom. To access the activity (and to allow us to track learner progress through the program), you must have an eLearning account. If you do not already have an account, it's easy to create one: you just need to provide your name, email address, and professional affiliation.

CE Accreditation and Credit Designation

The University of Colorado School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The University of Colorado School of Medicine designates this enduring material session for a maximum of 2 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should only the claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in this activity.

To earn CE credit, participants must
  1. View the entire presentation.
  2. Complete and submit the learning assessment test. Learners must answer all 20 questions and receive a minimum score of 80% to pass. The online learning assessment is delivered through the course’s learning management system and is graded automatically. Both score and feedback for each question is generated to the learner once the complete the assessment and click “Submit”. Learners who do not pass, do not see the correct answers, but are allowed to retake the assessment. See attached sample.
  3. Complete activity evaluation online (pre and post) through the learning management system; a certificate of participation will be provided to the learner automatically upon completion and passing the learner assessment. The learner can also email, print certificate of participation when they are logged into their account.
