William J. Brazile, PhD, CIH
Dr. Brazile is an accomplished environment, safety, and health professional and academician with more than 17 years of ES&H experience in industrial hygiene, hazardous waste operations, ES&H oversight, training, management, and academia. He received his Ph.D. in Environmental Health (Industrial Hygiene emphasis) in 1996 from Colorado State University and his Certified Industrial Hygiene designation in 1998. He has worked as an industrial hygienist, ES&H oversight officer, certified environmental trainer, certified quality auditor, team leader, and academician. He is currently a faculty member in the Occupational and Environmental Hygiene Section at Colorado State University.
Kenneth Blehm, PhD, CIH
Kenneth Blehm has been a staff industrial hygienist and environmental health faculty member at Colorado State University since 1979 with successive primary roles in both outreach activities, graduate education and research and, most recently, as associate dean of undergraduate education for the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Named as an AIHA Fellow in 2011, he looks for innovative ways to make industrial hygiene education ‘come alive’ by interspersing real field work with ‘book learning’ so that competent and actively engaged practitioners emerge from training or degree programs.
Cynthia Ellwood, PhD, CIH
Cynthia is the owner and Principal Industrial Hygienist at Associates in Occupational + Environmental Health, LLC, an industrial hygiene and safety consulting firm located in Denver, Colorado. She received her B.S. from Ohio University and Ph.D. from Colorado State University. Cynthia has provided consulting services for over 27 years in the fields of employee exposure assessments, retrospective occupational disease investigations, indoor air quality, local exhaust ventilation, development of comprehensive safety and health programs, construction in healthcare infection control, and academic and professional education. She has served as adjunct faculty at Ohio University and an affiliate faculty member at Colorado State University.
Cynthia is a member of ASHE, ACGIH, ASSE, and AIHA at both the local and national levels. At the AIHA local section level, Cynthia has served as President (2012), President-Elect (2010-11), Board Director and Chair of the Education Committee (1994-98), and as a volunteer on various local section committees from 1994 to the present time. Cynthia is a Certified Industrial Hygienist, comprehensive practice, by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene since 1993. In 2007, Cynthia was a recipient of the AIHA Fellow Award.
Delvin R. Sandfort, MS, CIH
Mr. Sandfort's background is in Public Health, Agricultural Health and Occupational Health. He is certified by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene in comprehensive practice. Over the years, he has worked for a variety of agencies and industries. His experience ranges from monitoring dust exposure during wheat harvest, to waste anesthetic gas exposure in dental clinics, to exposure assessments at Ground Zero of the World Trade Center site. His current research interests are physical agents such as noise and electro-magnetic radiation. He is also interested in exposures to specific work populations such as silica exposure in construction and beryllium exposures among dental laboratory workers. Most importantly, he is interested in the delivery of occupational health and safety services to small, high-hazard businesses. Mr. Sandfort currently manages the On-site Health and Safety Consultation Program for the State of Colorado. This program provides technical health and safety services to small businesses throughout the State. A unique specialty of this project is to help employers establish a sustainable, comprehensive safety and health program.
