Project Prioritization

Priority 1 - Percent FTE Collaborators

  • Grants or investigator groups (a department, division or center) paying a percent FTE for a biostatistician collaborator.
  • Projects under these arrangements are prioritized by the lead statistician for that grant or group.

Priority 2 - Colorado Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CCTSI) Sponsored Projects

  • CTRU-supported study and/or protocol preparation for SARC review.
  • CCTSI-funded trainees, including Kl2 and T32 awardees.
  • CCTSI-funded pilot award or community engagement awards.

Priority 3 - Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with Schools, Departments, Divisions or Centers

  • A group may enter into an MOU with the CBC for the provision of biostatistical collaboration to a designated roster of affiliated medical researchers at a negotiated monthly retainer.
  • The CBC assigns projects that are registered by affiliated investigators to CBC team members within the parameters of the provisions of the MOU.

Priority 4 - Fee-for-Service

  • The CBC has a limited capacity for biostatistics consultation on a fee-for-service basis.
  • Fee-for-service work is accepted on a first-come first-served basis, according to the availability of biostatistician time and the scope of the project.
  • The CBC meets with an investigator to develop a biostatistics Scope of Work, including a cost estimate.
  • The investigator provides a speedtype or other payment arrangement, and hours spent on the project are billed monthly for work performed during the previous month (in arrears).
