Tracy Skaer


Dr. Skaer is a tenured Professor of Pharmacotherapy at the Washington State University College of Pharmacy and licensed pharmacist in Washington, Idaho, South Carolina and California. She is a mindfulness-based stress reduction practitioner, as well as, Fellow of three professional organizations including the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, and the American Board of Forensic Examiners. Her research interests are in the areas of depression, anxiety, insomnia, stress management, chronic pain, opioid prescribing, complementary and alternative medicine (CAMs), pharmacoeconomics, and pharmacoepidemiology. She is currently investigated the use of CAMs and lifestyle changes for chronic illness and advocates the judicious use of medications while, at the same time, empowering patients to self-manage their illness.​
