Janet Frost

Janet Frost is the Director of the Washington State University Health Science STEM Education Research Center and a clinical associate professor of mathematics education in the Department of Teaching & Learning, College of Education. She studies diversity and equity in mathematics education, influences on mathematics teachers instructional decisions, and innovative STEM teaching and learning environments, often in the context of leading externally funded K-20 mathematics education professional development projects. She is currently leading three new projects: (1) professional development for university-based health sciences faculty focused on ambitious and equitable teaching practices, (2) health science career education for underrepresented/underserved K-12 students, and (3) equitable professional development for rural teachers. Janet was recently appointed to the Washington State STEM Education Innovation Alliance, which advises Governor Inslee.
