Turner Goins


R. Turner Goins is the Jeanette Hyde Distinguished Professor at Western Carolina University, College of Health and Human Sciences.  She has her MS and PhD in Gerontology from the University of Massachusetts-Boston. Turner's research focuses on American Indian and Alaska Native aging issues including physical functioning, chronic disease, and long-term care.  She is currently examining the association between mental health and diabetes-related outcomes among older American Indians.
