Each of the five Clinical Centers participated in the design of the Beryllium BioBank and agreed to have the necessary staff and resources to implement the Protocol. Each Clinical Center was responsible for recruiting and retaining subjects, collecting the required data, transmitting these data electronically to the DCC, and shipping specimens and scans to the Core Laboratories. Additionally, National Jewish Health acts as the Lead Clinical Coordinating Center and is the primary site for interaction with the Central Beryllium Institutional Review Board. One additional Center, Oak Ridge Associated Universities, was involved with recruitment activities of control participants.
