Admissions Process & Instructions
To apply for admission to the Colorado School of Public Health master of public health program, applicants are required to complete the online (SOPHAS) application.* International applicants must also complete the requirements outlined in our International Admissions process.
*Exception: Some dual degree seeking students, occupational medicine residency, preventive medicine residency, and some fellowship applicants are required to follow the application process using the ColoradoSPH online supplemental application. Please see your individual program page for details on application instructions. You must have received a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Additionally, you must submit official copies of your transcripts from every insitution you have attended with your application.

You must have obtained a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. If your GPA is below 3.00, you should include an explanation of why it fell below the minimum score and how you plan to address any prior academic deficiences. 2

While we do not currently have a minimum score requirement, average scores for admitted students were: 153.5 for Quantative and 155.8 in Verbal. If you hold a graduate level degree from an accredited institution in the United States, then the GRE requirement may be waived.
Your personal statement should be 2 pages in length, single spaced, and should address your career goals and purpose for applying to the program. Please make sure to include any past work/internship/volunteer experience and reasoning for how this program will serve your future goals.4
Please submit a recent copy of your resume or curriculum vitae (CV).5
While not required, it is highly encouraged that at least one letter of recommendation come from a faculty member who can attest to your academic performance.6
For scholarship consideration and optional summer enrollment, applicants must apply by the preferred application deadline. Those applying after the preferred deadline are only eligible for fall semester enrollment and will be considered for admission on a space available basis.
