Beyond what you see every day in the United States, health disparities still exist from the remote Mozambique villages to the urban Haitian towns. More than a billion people have not benefited from increased life expectancy and a lowered risk of infectious disease because they still live in poverty.
Reducing the high rate of morbidity and mortality suffered by the poor will require focusing on interventions that can achieve the greatest improvement in health. The world needs public health professionals, including you, to develop those interventions.

Change your global mindset through learning from faculty studying agricultural injuries in China, mood disorders in Costa Rica, indoor air pollution in Honduras and maternal and child health in Papua New Guinea without leaving the classroom.
Prepare.
Prepare yourself for leadership roles in a variety of international settings or your own global adventures through the Colorado School of Public Health’s global health courses. Course examples include Perspectives in International Health, Ethics and International Development and International Nutrition.

Be called to action by the Center for Global Health which recognizes the right that all humans deserve the best health possible, transcends borders to train health professionals and tackles humanity’s greatest health challenges. Attend the Center’s yearly Global Health Symposium and learn from or network with leaders in refugee health, HIV/AIDS, microfinance, social justice and many more.
If you desire to work in an African refugee camp fighting malnutrition or in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic educating slum residents how to treat their water, the Center or CSPH faculty will help connect you to international organizations and mentors who can show you the way.

A global mission - achieved through public health
The Colorado School of Public Health announces the new Certificate in Global Public Health, now available at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Offered in connection with the University of Colorado Denver Center for Global Health, the new certificate prepares health professionals with the academic training necessary to tackle global challenges through the lenses of population health and preventive medicine.
