Master of Science

MS Programs at the Colorado School of Public Health

The Colorado School of Public Health offers the master of science (MS) program through the University of Colorado Denver Graduate School.

Because the MS programs are connected with the graduate school, students work closely with graduate school administration and follow several graduate school specfic rules and requirements.

The MS program in biostatistics exposes students to a wide variety of studies and research interests including longitudinal data, statistical genetics and genomics, clinical trials, infectious disease, and cancer research.

The program targets students with strong skills and training in mathematics with the interest to apply math in health care and biological settings.  Students pursuing the MS look forward to rewarding careers in academia, research, public health and private industry.  Potential positions include analysis and design of health studies, clinical trials, drug development and public health studies.


The MS program in epidemiology provides graduate-level training in the causes, distribution, and control of disease in populations, with an emphasis on epidemiologic methods and training in human diseases in populations.  The degree provides training in the scientific foundations of epidemiology and prepares individuals to address complex public health issues.

Health Services Research, Policy and Administration

The MS program in health services research, policy and administration provides graduate-level training in this multidiscplinary field.  Students are trained to understand the connections among social facotrs, health technologies, and personal behaviors affecting the access, cost and quality of health care.
