ASPPH Student Leadership Institute

Saturday & Sunday, Nov. 10 - 11

The Student Leadership Institute is a skill-building and networking opportunity for student leaders at ASPPH member institutions. The Institute is planned by the ASPPH Student Services Forum. The deadline to register is Friday, October 26, and the registration fee is $199 per student.​

Vice Admiral Jerome Adams, MD, MPH - 20th Surgeon General of the United States.

Melissa Harris-Perry, PhD - Host of the award-winning television show Melissa Harris-Perry on MSNBC and as a faculty member of the University of Chicago, Princeton University, and Tulane University. 

Ai-jen Poo​ - Director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance and the co-director of the Caring Across Generations Campaign. 

John A. Powell, JD - director of the Haas Institute for a Fair and Inclusive Society and professor of Law, African American, and Ethnic Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. 

Eldar Shafir, PhD - Class of 1987 Professor of Behavioral Science and Public Policy at Princeton University, director of Princeton’s Kahneman-Treisman Center for Behavioral Science and Public Policy, scientific director at ideas42, a social science R&D lab, and visiting faculty at the Blavatnik School of Government at Oxford University.

APHA Live

For anyone unable to travel to the conference in person, APHA offers APHA Live, nearly 20 hours of livestreamed and on-demand broadcasting of career-building sessions including the Opening, Closing and General Sessions. Hear from leaders in the public health field, learn best practices and earn up to 19 CE credits.​ *​There is a fee for this service.


ASPPH at APHA

The Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) will host several joint sessions with other organizations as well as several ASPPH Forum meetings/workshops during APHA’s 2018 Annual Meeting in San Diego.

The majority of ASPPH sessions at APHA are free to attend and do not require pre-registration. Exceptions are noted on the agenda. Visit ASPPH for more information. ​
