Dominic F. Martinez is the Senior Director of the Office of Inclusion and Outreach at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Before becoming the Senior Director, Dominic served as the Director, Assistant Director and Associate Director of the Office. In which he has now been with this office for over ten years. Prior to his arrival to CU, Dominic worked at the University of Wyoming as the Assistant Director of Admission and coordinator of Minority Student Recruitment for over four years. Dominic graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Multicultural History and Student Movements. Dominic received his Masters of Arts degree in Religious Studies with an emphasis in diversity and cultural/religious identities from the Department of Religious Studies at CU Boulder and his Doctorate of Education degree in Leadership for Educational Equity from CU Denver School of Education and Human Development. Dominic and his wife, Amber Martinez are proud parents of three beautiful children.
Cathleen Angell is the Executive Assistant in the office of Diversity and Inclusion. She has been employed with the
University for 7 years, where she worked with Employee Services and the Office
of the President at the CU System Office. A Northern California native,
Cathleen received her Associate Degree from Sierra College and also attended
the University of California, Davis. After moving to Colorado, Cathleen
enrolled at CU Denver where she graduated in 2013 with her Bachelors of Arts
degree in Human Resource Management. When not working, Cathleen enjoys spending
time with her two cats, travelling, water sports and running.
The important work of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion will be led by a team comprised of Dominic F. Martinez, EdD, Senior Director, Office of Inclusion and Outreach, who will have responsibility for managing daily operations of the offices on both campuses and will oversee the staff. Lauren Fontana, JD, the Affirmative Action Coordinator, will continue Dr. Allen’s work on a number of committees and councils. Nelia Viveiros, LLB, EdD, Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Operations, will interface with both Dominic and Lauren and handle issues and concerns as they come into the office. Cathleen Angell, Executive Assistant, will continue to support the Diversity and Inclusion offices and will triage requests to Nelia for handling. The Office of Diversity and Inclusion will continue to report to the Provost.
