Hinna Zahid is a third year Chemistry Major and Law Studies Minor at the University of Colorado Denver, where she is also completing pre-requisites for pharmacy school. Hinna applied to the Undergraduate Pre-Health Program because she firmly believes in the values and goals that UPP promotes, which include diversifying the healthcare system and working towards minimizing healthcare disparities. She thanks UPP for giving her this unique opportunity and she looks forward to working with her preceptors. Hinna will gain exposure to four clinical pharmacy specialties including cardiology, behavioral health, palliative care, and oncology, during the summer intensive portion of the program. Hinna is excited to explore these fields, as she hopes to be a clinical pharmacist one day. Hinna takes part in her community by dedicating her time to service projects such as Project CURE and 9 News Health Fairs; she is also active with the neurology department at the Children’s Hospital. Hinna is a part of the University Honors and Leadership program on the Denver Campus, and she hopes that UPP will be another gem that she can add to her list of undergraduate experiences and achievements.
