LiMei Qin is a third year student, who is currently pursuing a degree in Biology. She has been a student research assistant in two separate research labs at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and the Denver VA Medical Center. Badminton has been a passion of LiMei’s. During her freshmen year, she started the Auraria Badminton Club, a club sport on campus to promote health and the value of sportsmanship through engagement activities of playing badminton and has been leading the organization as the club President. Having experienced and witnessed the unavailability of adequate health care, a lack of high quality patient care, and a lack of advanced medical technology, she is motivated to become a rural physician. As a future health care provider, LiMei’s long term goal is to save lives, as well as to change the health and well being of disadvantaged patients through compassion and high quality patient care. As a participant in UPP, LiMei hopes to gain more insight on how to meet patients’ needs as a physician, as well as the roles of other health professions in the health care field.
