Gavriel Roda, a Biology Major and Physics Minor at the University of Colorado Denver, has just finished her first year of university-level education and plans to graduate in the spring of 2015. Gavriel has moved 7 times in her life and has been heavily exposed to the cultures of the world, specifically those in Asia. It is through seeing the different medical problems each society faced, in combination with a passion for the sciences, that she hopes to one day become a Physician. Gavriel’s goal is to attend the CU School of Medicine and eventually work with infectious disease or immunology. Participating in UPP has been more than inspiring for Gavriel and the experiences she has gained from the program have further strengthened her desires to someday enter the medical field. She looks forward to working with her preceptor and learning more about the research aspects of medicine.
