Wesley Gallegos

Undergraduate Pre-Health Program | 2012-2013 Cohort

Wesley is a junior at Colorado State University pursuing a degree in Spanish. He will be graduating in the winter of 2013, which is only two years after having graduated from high school in 2011. Wesley was privileged to complete two years of his undergraduate education through a dual-enrollment with a scholarship. Upon graduating from CSU, Wesley plans to attend the CU School of Medicine for physician assisting.

Wesley was previously a part of the MC² program through Children’s Hospital Colorado. There he was a Child Life intern working with professionals in the cardiopulmonary intensive care unit and oncology. This summer, he will be a radiology intern through the Kaiser Permanente track, which is truly an honor for him. While he does not know if he intends on specializing, Wesley wants to test out every branch of medicine to see if he finds a perfect fit. However, there is much more to Wesley than merely his interest in medicine. His other passions are being an advocate for underrepresented communities, and participating in protests for social change. He also enjoys literature, writing, and art as he knows medicine is just as much an art as it is a science.
