Welcome to the GEDP

Gastrointestinal Eosinophilic Diseases Program (GEDP) is dedicated to providing outstanding care for patients with eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases (EGIDs) and investigating the eosinophil’s role in the gastrointestinal tract.

The GEDP is composed of two programs - research and clinical - that strive to develop innovative approaches towards the care and research of eosinophilic diseases.

Latest News

Drs. Dan Atkins, Glenn Furuta, and David Brumbaugh, were instrumental in helping to get HB 16-1387 passed and signed by the governor in June 2016. This bill will require commercial insurers registered in the state of Colorado to cover medical foods for metabolic and allergic and several chronic G.I. conditions starting later this year. 

Dr. Glenn Furuta was an invited member on the expert panel to update Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Prevention of Peanut Allergy, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). He also received the GI Fellows Award for Teacher of the Year.
