Uncompahgre College

Adam Berlinberg

I was originally born outside of Detroit, MI, but have lived in CO since I was 4 years old, so I consider myself to basically be a native. I went to college at the amazing University of Colorado at Boulder studying biochemistry, and decided to stay local for medical school. I’m going into Internal Medicine, likely subspecializing (though trying to figure out which of my many interests will be the best fit). As part of the CU SOM Research Track I did spend a lot of my free time in the lab the first two years, and will continue during 4th year. When I’m not occupied with school I enjoy doing typical Colorado type activities. I’m obsessed with baseball and football, and try to go fly fishing at least once or two a month during the summer. I also enjoy hiking, camping, Red Rocks concerts, and just simply hanging out with friends and family and exploring more of what this great state has to offer.

Erin Gonzales

Hi, my name is Erin Gonzales and I’m excited to get to know you this year.  I’m originally from Chesapeake, Virginia, but have been a Coloradoan by choice for the past seven years and hope to stay that way for many more.  I received my undergraduate degree from Duke University, but it’s taken me a while to figure out what I want to do when I grow up; I spent time chasing pirates on the high seas (as an officer in the navy), then herding hormone-crazed adolescents (as a middle school teacher) before landing gratefully in medical school.  I have loved every rotation I’ve done in third year, and am planning a career in family medicine, which will allow me to keep doing a little bit of everything.  For the past few years, my husband and I have spent all of the spare time and excess cash that med school can provide renovating a century-old house in Denver (and most of those renovations are still in progress… see above under “spare time and excess cash”).  In my spare spare time, I am an avid gardener, love to hike with my two dogs, and enjoy partaking in the mad genius that is my husband’s cooking.  (I also do a lot of dishes.)  I’m in the rural track here at CU and would love to chat about that or anything else you might have questions about.  Welcome to Uncompahgre!
