All AMC degree seeking and certain approved certificate program students enrolled in one or more credit hours are required to have insurance. As a result, all degree seeking and certain approved certificate students enrolled in one or more credit hours are automatically billed for the Student Health Insurance Plan A. If you have a comparable insurance, you may qualify to waive the Student Health Insurance Plan please see the section on waving and SHI.

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Student Injury and Sickness Insurance Plan is an Annual Plan with coverage effective through August 31, 2017 and the Plan renews on September 1st of every year without the option to term mid-year off the plan. Enrollment for the insurance is limited to the Fall semester for Annual enrollment, except for new Students in the Spring or Summer semesters; or for students who qualify for Late Enrollment. Refunds will be made upon the entry into the armed forces of any country. Students must actively attend classes the first 31 days of the semester for which the student purchased insurance coverage. If the student withdraws from school or drops below the required credit hours within the first 31 days, a refund will be refunded if the withdrawal occurs during the first 31 days. Students who withdraw will not be entitled to any benefits during the days described and no claims received will be honored. No other refunds will be issued except for entry into the armed forces or withdrawal from school within the first 31 days of the semester in which the student enrolled.
The Student Health Insurance Plan is an annual full-service medical insurance plan tailored to the needs of the students of the Anschutz Medical Campus. The plan is underwritten by UnitedHealthCare. For the 16-17 Plan Year the Student Health Office will be offering two insurance plans. The annual cost of the Students responsiblity for the premium for the student insurance For Plan A is $740.00 and Plan B is $3612.00 ( half is charged to your tuition bill in the fall and the other half in the spring tuition).

Benefits are provided through MagellanRX, a point-of-service provider. Please call 1-800-424-5828 for questions regarding benefits or participating pharmacies. If an Insured Individual incurs Rx claims within the first 6 weeks of enrollment or prior to receiving an insurance card, the Insured Individual must pay for the Rx and submit a claim to after the 6th week.
