STUDENT INSURANCE PLANS 2019-2020
The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is pleased to offer both health insurance and dental insurance to our students.
The health insurance is through the UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company who provide a UnitedHealthcare StudentResources Student Injury and Sickness Insurance Plan. All students enrolled in a degree, and certain approved certificate-seeking programs, taking 1 or more credit hours are automatically enrolled in this student health insurance plan unless a successful insurance waiver is submitted prior to the waiver deadline each academic year.
To waive out of the student health insurance plan, your personal health insurance must meet all of the requirements stated under Waiving Health Insurance. Waiver requests must be submitted twice a year, once for Fall and again for Spring/Summer before the stated deadlines.
Visit the Insurance Forms page to find various forms needed to file claims. If you have any questions or do not see the form you need, please contact the Student Health Insurance Program Manager at 303-837-2127 or StudentInsurance@cuanschutz.edu.
Find a Provider
Finding an in-network provider is easier than you think. You can search for both medical and behavioral health providers to ensure that you are seen by an in-network provider. It is each student’s responsibility to confirm if a particular service is covered under the student health insurance plan before each appointment.
Prescriptions can be mail ordered through UnitedHealthCare Pharmacy. For more information, please refer to the Highlights of Coverage section in the plan summary brochure. Information on Network Pharmacies is available by clicking "Find Pharmacy" on the UnitedHealthcare StudentResources Student Center or by calling Customer Service at 1-855-828-7716.
Dental insurance is offered through Anthem BlueCross BlueShield with the Anthem Dental Complete Dental Program. This plan is optional, and students will have the opportunity to submit a form enrolling in coverage. Enrollment in the student dental coverage is annual for Fall enrollees, and has optional spring and summer enrollments for students who start in the spring or summer semesters.
