Autumn JoAnne Orser

Autumn JoAnne Orser

University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus

Autumn is currently in a pediatric residency program. During December she was able to go home to Alamosa and work with the pediatrician. It was a great experience being part of her home town. She really enjoyed seeing patients (children of people she grew up with) and being able to serve the community. She still plans to complete her residency in July 2012. There are no changes in her career plans. She is still planning to practice rural pediatrics in the San Luis Valley. After graduation, her husband will still be finishing his medical training for a few years after she finishes with hers. Her hope is to work part time in the San Luis Valley with Dr. Bresnitz and the rest of the time closer to her husband. Eventually, they both plan to practice in the San Luis Valley and provide much needed medical care to the great folks who live there. She graduated in May, 2009. Currently, she is in residency, so yes she is working, but still training (specialty training). She is a Pediatric Resident Level 2. Under supervision, she works in various places in the Children’s Hospital as well as Denver Health. She also has her own clinic and sees patients on a weekly basis. Her clinic is at Westside that is part of the Denver Health System. She sees uninsured and underinsured patients who are mostly Spanish speaking.
