What is Strides for Epilepsy?
Each year, over 2,500 participants come together at City Park in Denver to take part in the Strides for Epilepsy 5k walk/run. Over 43,000 Coloradoans have epilepsy, more than MS, Cerebral Palsy and Parkinson’s Combined. The run/walk is organized by the Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado. The Colorado Area Health Education Center System Program Office is a proud sponsor of the Epilepsy Foundation and a proud participant in the yearly Strides for Epilepsy event because we believe in the EFCO’s mission: to prevent, control and cure epilepsy and to ensure people with seizure disorders are able to participate in all life experiences. EFCO’s goals are to improve the quality of life for people with epilepsy, eliminate the stigma associated with the disorder through awareness and education and prevent the onset of epilepsy.
