The CU Innovations team is available as consultants to investigators at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus and UC Denver who desire to make an impact. Intellectual property management is critical for translating university research to generate societal benefit. Our staff is knowledgeable in a variety of tools and pathways that advance the adoption of CU innovations, and we work closely with multiple industry-facing units on CU’s campuses and commercialization services throughout Colorado’s front range community. CU Innovations is the starting point to identify intellectual assets in the lab, and provide advice on the pathway to fulfill the goals of research programs and individual innovators on campus.

Consult with CU Innovations
Investigators are encouraged to request a consultation with our staff at any point in the research process. We can provide:
- Ideas to support the broader impacts sections of major research proposals
- Intellectual property management education and tools to research groups that are starting a new project
- Tools and pathways to support newly created innovations
CU Innovations also works closely with a number of other units across CU's campuses to create opportunities for successful industry engagement:
CU Innovations provides support to faculty and graduate students at the University of Colorado. However, CU also supports entrepreneurship and creative/inventive activity by undergraduates, and has prepared these guidelines to assist undergraduate students who are creating their own intellectual property. If it’s unclear whether the university could have an ownership interest in undergraduate IP, please contact CU Innovations for help.
