The University Honors and Leadership (UHL) program believes that the development of an international perspective among the UHL students is essential in an increasingly global environment. To facilitate this, we are developing the UHL Global Education Initiative. This Initiative will provide UHL students with an integrated set of international educational experiences, including
- high-level, multidisciplinary education in international economics, policy, culture, and languages on the CU Denver campus
- study abroad experiences that bring UHL students into close contact with the people, language, culture, academic, business, and policy environments of other nations and regions of the world
Our initial goal is to develop a series of three-course modules, with each module being focused on a particular country or global region. Each module will be made up of:
(i) one-semester of intensive foreign language education taught with cutting-edge pedagogical methods
(ii) a multidisciplinary course that builds on (i) and deals with that country or region’s history, literature, culture, and place in the current global environment, taught on the CU Denver Campus
(iii) Maymester study abroad experiences that complement (i) and (ii)
The University of Colorado Denver provides a vast array of exciting and enriching study abroad opportunities, and UHL students are encouraged to explore the possibilities offered by these programs.
