The UHL program is proud to claim Deandra Walker as its first-ever graduate! Deandra, who enrolled in the program in fall 2008, received her degree in biology on December 17th. In her own words, “I’ve had many opportunities [with UHL] that have changed me both as an individual and as a student.” Among these were her many chances to serve the program, the university, and the community as a Chancellor's Ambassador, her scientific research at Anschutz Medical Campus, and the ability to develop a new way of thinking from UHL courses. Taking these foundational experiences with her, Deandra is planning on pursuing doctoral work in cellular and molecular biology.
