Site: Trifinio Clinic

Location: near Coatepeque, Guatemala (rural Guatemala), about 6 hours from Guatemala City​​​

Language: Spanish

  • Intermediate Spanish-speaking level or higher required

Housing: Buffs house, a house at the clinic shared with medical residents and any other CU students/trainees/faculty visiting.​

Information:

  • The clinic is staffed year-round by Children’s Hospital Medical Residents, occasionally by University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) Internal and Family Medicine residents, as well as UCH Dental students.
  • The pharmacy associated with the clinic is run by a local technician and overseen by a remote pharmacist. Pharmacy students will be precepted by a Skaggs School of Pharmacy faculty member and will have the opportunity to provide all pharmacy services to the community
  • Days consist of 8AM-5PM schedule, seeing 40+ patients per day, providing patient counseling and education, product recommendations, patient care visits and travel visits with providers, educating providers, and answering a lot of drug information questions

Length: 6 weeks (available any rotation block)

Price: $25 per day for housing, includes 3 meals a day during the week. Flights $400-600​​​
