Dr. Saseen teaches in the Entry Level and North American-Trained PharmD programs. His primary areas are related to preventive cardiology (e.g., hypertension, dyslipidemia) and rheumatology (rheumatoid arthritis, gout, osteoarthritis). He is director of the Pharmacotherapy 2 (PHRD 6085) and the Intersession (PHRD 8995) courses. He precepts post-graduate year 2 (PGY2) ambulatory care pharmacy residents and is the residency program director of the ASHP-accredited PGY2 Ambulatory Care pharmacy residency.
As a clinical pharmacist in the Department of Family Medicine, Dr. Saseen practices at the University of Colorado Stapleton Family Medicine Clinic (aka, A.F. Williams). This is an interprofessional setting and is the primary clinical teaching site for the University of Colorado Family Medicine Residency Program.
Dr. Saseen conducts research and other scholarly activities related to pharmacotherapy (hypertension, dyslipidemia, gout) and other clinical innovations related to ambulatory care. He has published research, review articles and textbook chapters related to these topics.
Dr. Saseen is Vice Chair of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy. He is on the Board of Directors for the National Lipid Association as an Executive Council Chair, is a member of the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacy Commission on Credentialing, and is a member of the writing group for the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association 2018 Blood Cholesterol Guideline.
