Dr. Saseen teaches several components of the Entry
Level and North American-Trained PharmD programs. In particular, he teaches on
the topics of preventive cardiology (e.g., hypertension, dyslipidemia),
rheumatology (rheumatoid arthritis, gout, osteoarthritis), cardiovascular
complications of diabetes, and comprehensive pharmacotherapy cases. He is
director of the Pharmacotherapy 2 (PHRD 6085) and the Intersession (PHRD 8995)
courses. He precepts post-graduate year 2 (PGY2) ambulatory care pharmacy
residents and is the residency program director of the ASHP-accredited PGY2 Ambulatory Care pharmacy residency.
As a clinical pharmacy specialist in the Department of
Family Medicine, Dr. Saseen practices at the University of Colorado Stapleton
Family Medicine Clinic (aka, A.F. Williams). This is the primary clinical
teaching site for the University of Colorado Family Medicine Residency Program.
Dr. Saseen participates in research related to pharmacotherapy (hypertension, dyslipidemia, gout) and has published research, review articles and textbook chapters related to these topics.
Dr. Saseen was chair of the curriculum committee at the School of Pharmacy from 2007-2013 and is currently on the committee as the past chair. He is on the Board of Directors for the National Lipid Association and the Board of Pharmacy Specialties, and also is Director of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy Academy Career Advancement program.
