Acoustic Neuroma Program

The University of Colorado Hospital Acoustic Neuroma Program is comprised of several highly specialized, expert practitioners who are dedicated to offering the most comprehensive and up to date treatment for acoustic neuromas. We offer microsurgical options as well as stereotactic radiosurgical options (Rocky Mountain Gamma Knife Center) for treatment. Our multidisciplinary approach offers each patient individually tailored care every step of the way. Each patient’s case is discussed amongst our board of highly trained specialists to determine the best course of treatment for that patient, whether it be surgical or nonsurgical.

Our state-of-the-art facilities allow our doctors to practice at the forefront of medicine. For example, our three microsurgical approaches are focused on hearing and facial nerve preservation, which is often compromised by acoustic neuromas. To ensure precision, our surgeries are performed by both a neurosurgeon and a neuro-otologist who utilize state of the art microsurgical and endoscopic tools in addition to cranial nerve monitoring for the safest and minimally invasive tumor removal. The operating rooms are equipped with the latest up to date technology run by a team of expert neuroanesthesiologists. After surgery, each patient is cared for by our specially trained neuro-intensivist ICU doctors, in addition, all of our PAs, NPs, nurses and therapists are experienced in caring for neurosurgery post-operative patients. Our dedicated acoustic neuroma patient care coordinator offers close support, good continuity of care and facilitates easy communication between patients, their families and our team of doctors.

The University of Colorado Hospital has ranked among the best hospitals in the country by US News & World Report for multiple years in a row. The team of neurosurgeons, neuro-otologists, radiation oncologists, neuro-oncologists and radiologists who represent our Acoustic Neuroma Program speak to those standards and it is the only program of its kind in the Rocky Mountain region. Please click on Contact Us to schedule an appointment for consultation.
