Colorado Parent Mentoring Program
The Colorado Parent Mentoring program provides support for parents of newly diagnosed children with autism (ages 2-7) by pairing them with a seasoned parent of a child with autism who serves as their mentor. The mentor provides emotional support while experts from the Colorado Mentoring program provide specific action planning to assist families in understanding resources available to them and training around navigating the systems and insurance necessary to get those services for their child.
Families eligible to receive mentoring must have a child ages 2-7 newly diagnosed (within 3 months) at JFK Partners or Developmental Pediatrics at Children's Hospital Colorado. Please contact 303-724-4772 for enrollment information.
Parents interested in further information about becoming a mentor can contact Kristen Kaiser at 303-724-4772.
