DPT Scholarship Information

The CU Physical Therapy Scholarship Program offers scholarships to honor students with outstanding promise and to help offset the cost of tuition of their physical therapy education at University of Colorado. Scholarships are offered for applicants and current students.  For more information, click on the scholarship categories below.


 Diversity Scholarships

Diversity embraces race, ethnicity, gender, religion, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, disability, life experiences, record of service and employment and other talents and personal attributes that can enhance the scholarly and learning environment. We have two scholarships available:

  • Posner-Mayer PT Scholarship
  • Chancellor’s Diversity Scholarship

To qualify for these scholarships, you must complete the application, which consists of an essay, addressing the 3 components below. If you are selected to receive one of these scholarships, you will be notified in your offer of admission letter.

Essay components: (in 500 words or less)

  1. Provide a self-description of your diversity.
  2. Describe your past contributions to diversity and inclusion.
  3. Explain how you could enhance diversity and inclusion on Anschutz Medical Campus and the Physical Therapy profession in the future.



 Rural Scholarships

The University of Colorado is committed to increasing the accessibility of health care in general, and in particular, physical therapy services to populations in a rural community in the Rocky Mountain region. The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize individuals who are committed to providing physical therapy services in a rural community. In addition to scholastic achievement, the student receiving this scholarship must exhibit strong leadership skills. Students who receive this scholarship will plan to practice physical therapy in a rural community after graduation. 

Essay components: (in 500 words or less)

  1. Provide a description of your rural experience.
  2. As a student of physical therapy, how would your rural perspective enhance the educational experience on the Anschutz Medical Campus.
  3. Describe how you will demonstrate your commitment to serving in a rural area after graduating as a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
