This position will be responsible to fill the standard expectations of a mid-level provider in a GI setting, but not limited to direct patient care in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.

Position Accountabilities:
1.     Manages the health care of a select group of patients as directed by RMG physicians.
2.     Performs a comprehensive health assessment, including health history, physical exams, preventive screening; identifies medical health risks and needs.
3.     Formulates the appropriate differential diagnoses based on clinical evaluation.
4.     Performs, orders and/or interprets diagnostic studies within scope of practice.
5.     Performs advanced technical procedures within scope of practice.
6.     Plans and implements therapeutic regimens that include both nursing and medical management strategies, including prescription of medication/devices. Includes obtaining and maintaining prescriptive authority.
7.     Establishes systematic follow-up for the evaluation of the plan of care and reassesses and modifies the plan as necessary.
8.     Assures patient and family teaching is adequate to manage the illness or wellness plan at home.
9.     Participates as a team in providing healthcare, interacting with professional colleagues to provide comprehensive care as a responsible professional.
10.  Maintains accurate, legible and confidential records and ensures appropriate billing process is followed for all patients.
11.  Maintains competency and enhances professional growth and development through continuing education, conferences and seminars. Shares knowledge obtained through these functions with staff in a formal setting. Participates in self-directed continued learning, including quality improvement and protocol development.
12.  Supports and upholds RMG policies, procedures, objectives, mission, quality improvement, safety, environment and infection control and codes/requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies.
13.  Maintains positive behaviors, approaches, attitude and commitment to interpersonal service toward patients, visitors and/or co-workers.
Minimum Qualifications:
NP or PA certification—Licensed to practice in the State of Colorado.
Preferred Qualifications:
Spanish Speaking a plus.
