The University of Colorado School of Medicine requires that its medical students complete a scholarly project for graduation with the MD degree. On campus this project requirement is generally referred to as the MSA (Mentored Scholarly Activity.) Further in order to successfully complete the requirements of the Global Health track (GHT), our students must complete their MSA in global health.
This scholarly activity comes in many formats. Some students come into medical school with projects they have previous begun and can continue those in medical school. Others may conduct research related to community health or medical education in other countries. Still others, may work on a project bringing down barriers to access to care for refugees within the United States.
