HRSA Bureau of Primary Care - for more than 40 years, HRSA-supported Health Centers have provided comprehensive, culturally competent, quality primary health care services to medically underserved communities and vulnerable populations. Health centers are community-based and patient-directed organizations that serve populations with limited access to health care. These include low income populations, the uninsured, those with limited English proficiency, migrant and seasonal farmworkers, individuals and families experiencing homelessness, and those living in public housing.
Rose Community Foundation was established in 1995 to help make the Greater Denver community a more vibrant and healthy place to live. The Foundation concentrates its resources in five key program areas: Aging, Child and Family Development, Education, Health and Jewish Life. We make grants in seven counties: Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson. In 2007, the Foundation granted more than $12 million. In addition to providing financial support to community institutions and nonprofit organizations, the Foundation also provides a flexible vehicle for donors to contribute to charitable causes.
Given the complex dynamics of the health care system, Rose Community Foundation recognizes that improving access to quality care requires well-informed, visionary leaders. For this reason, the Foundation promotes initiatives that develop health-policy and public-health leadership. While Rose Community Foundation invests in health leadership that can improve access to quality care over the long term, it also works to effect more immediate change. Committed to improving access to care for low-income children, youth and families, the Foundation continues to support efforts to enroll them in programs such as Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+), a publicly supported health insurance program.
Health Policy and Public Health Leadership -- Our community needs leaders who understand the health and mental health service systems well enough to conceive, initiate and implement improved access to, and coordination of services. The Foundation supports efforts to develop, inform and equip leaders who can help create a more accessible and wellcoordinated health care system.
