Education in Pediatrics Across the Continuum (EPAC)

EPAC is a pilot project designed to test the possibility of completing medical training based on achievement of defined outcomes rather than time delimited learning. The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB), Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) endorse the project carried out by Universities of California at San Francisco, Colorado, Minnesota, and Utah.

At the University of Colorado medical students apply at the end of Phase I. Each year, up to four students are selected for participation. Successful completion of the medical student competencies will lead to a residency spot in the CU Department of Pediatrics at the Children's Hospital Colorado.

More information about the pilot can be found at the AAMC EPAC website.
