Students are assigned to a combination of newborn nursery and inpatient and outpatient pediatric sites during the 6-week block. There are numerous requirements and deadlines throughout the ICAC Clerkship. For further details, refer to the ICAC student manual. Required lectures and discussions occur on the first day of each rotation and during Intrasession (3rd Friday and 4th Monday of each block). On the final day of each rotation, students take the Pediatric Shelf Exam by the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) and complete a standardized patient station at the Center for Advancing Professional Excellence (CAPE).
