Welcome to the website of the Division of Surgical Oncology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. The Division of Surgical Oncology is committed to providing cutting-edge surgical care for cancer patients.
Our surgical oncologists are specialist surgeons treating cancers that involve the pancreas, liver, biliary tract, gallbladder, colon/rectum, gastrointestinal tract, breast, stomach, and esophagus. In addition, our specialists deal with tumor types such as sarcoma, neuroendocrine tumors, and melanoma. We also have a dedicated cyto-reductive and heated intra-peritoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) team for patients with peritoneal cancers. The surgical oncology group provides modern management of these cancers through the latest surgical technologies and uses minimally invasive procedures to decrease the impact of operations on our patients.
All of our surgeons hold faculty appointments at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Our surgeons are leaders in national medical societies, and the majority are active committee members on the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), creating the recommendations for cancer treatment that are followed nationally.
A unique aspect of our surgical oncology division is that our patients are seen in multidisciplinary clinics, which allows the surgical team to communicate with other cancer specialists and formulate a comprehensive cancer treatment plan on the first clinic visit.
We hope that this website will provide you with useful information on our services in cancer care.
