Interests: Thoracic Cancer and Brain Tumors
Dr. Gaspar is a Professor and Former Chairman in the Department of Radiation Oncology. Dr. Gaspar has 30 years of experience treating thoracic and brain tumors, utilizing stereotactic techniques, intensity modulated radiation therapy and image guidance. She has worked extensively with concurrent chemotherapy and radiation therapy for both thoracic and brain tumors. Dr. Gaspar has been listed as one of the Best Doctors in America for many years.
Dr. Gaspar earned her M.D. from the University of Western Ontario and her MBA from the University of Michigan. She completed her internship at Victoria Hospital, London, Ontario, followed by her residency and fellowship in radiation oncology at the London Regional Cancer Centre, in London, Ontario. Her first academic appointment was at the London Regional Cancer Centre. She moved in 1992 to Wayne State University where she remained until her move to the University of Colorado in 1999 to become Professor and Chair.
Dr. Gaspar has written numerous clinical research protocols for national committees such as the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) and the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG). She is the author of more than 100 publications and presentations at national and international meetings.
Dr. Gaspar is a member of the editorial board of Advances in Radiation Oncology and Clinical Lung Cancer. She serves on a number of national boards and committees including the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American College of Surgeons, the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC), and the American College of Radiology (ACR).
