Laws/Advocacy: State-By-State Concussion Law

Please click on states/regions below to see concussion laws. Note that all 50 states and the District of Columbia have passed laws on concussions in sports for youth and/or high school athletes. Most laws contain language about the education of coaches, parents, and athletes, removing athletes from play following concussion, and return-to-play criteria. State laws vary in terms of the training and other requirements for the providers providing clearance for student athletes to return to play.
