Adam Green, MD (Principal Investigator)
Dr. Green is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and investigator in the Morgan Adams Foundation Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Program at the University of Colorado.
He did his undergraduate work at Dartmouth College and earned his MD from NYU School of Medicine. He then served as a pediatric resident and chief resident at Children’s Hospital Colorado, followed by fellowship at Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, where he worked with Mark Kieran and trained in the labs of Andrew Kung and Stuart Orkin. He then returned to the University of Colorado in 2014, where he has been mentored as a junior faculty member by Rajeev Vibhakar, as well as Nick Foreman.
He is an attending physician on the neuro-oncology and oncology services in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s Hospital Colorado. He is a member of the CNS Tumor Committee of the Children’s Oncology Group.
He chairs three clinical trials that have arisen from work in his laboratory. He has been awarded the ASPHO Young Investigator Award, a St. Baldrick’s Foundation Fellowship and Scholar Award, a Hyundai Hope on Wheels Young Investigator Award, and K12 and K08 awards through NIH.
John DeSisto, MS, JD (Senior Professional Research Assistant)
John holds BS and MS degrees from the University of Utah and a JD from the University of Denver. After distinguished careers in geoscience and law, he became a biomedical researcher, working first with James Ortho at CU-Boulder, and then, since 2015, in the Green Lab.
He has specific expertise with high-throughput analysis and pathway investigation. He is a gifted teacher and leads the hands-on education of trainees in the lab.
Aaron Knox, PhD (Senior Professional Research Assistant)
Aaron received his BA from Carroll College and his PhD in Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Colorado Denver, where he worked in David Patterson’s lab. He subsequently worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Maggie Wierman’s lab and as a Research Instructor in Kate Horwitz’s lab on the Anschutz Medical Campus.
After a stint as a scientist at Velocity Sciences/I2 Pharmaceuticals, he began work in the Green Lab in 2018, where he heads the work on mouse models.
