SafeCare® Colorado

A state-wide prevention program for at-risk families

The Kempe Center was selected by the State of Colorado, Department of Human Services, Office of Children, Youth and Families to oversee the implementation of SafeCare® across the state.  SafeCare® is an evidence-based home visitation program for families with children ages 0-5 that provides parents and caregivers with skills that address home safety, parenting, and children’s health needs. The Kempe Center will also be involved in efforts to evaluate the effectiveness of the SafeCare® program in a voluntary setting.

In May 2015, SafeCare® Colorado state funding and statewide program oversight moved to the Colorado Office of Early Childhood.
