Pediatric Section of Child Abuse and Neglect

The Kempe Center’s mission is to provide and improve direct clinical services, improve clinical service delivery systems, and provide training, education and consultation programs to prevent and treat child abuse and neglect in Colorado and throughout the nation.

The Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect is a section of the Department of Pediatrics of the University of Colorado School of Medicine. The Department of Pediatrics is recognized as one of the best in the world, and its leadership has been steadfast in encouraging and supporting the Center's mission and work.

In the pages of this website you will find information and resources about our research, clinicaleducation, training and consultation activities, as well as a listing of faculty and their publications, research funding, and awards and honors. We offer state-of-the-art evidenced-based clinical services, educate and train students and professionals, conduct research, and engage the broader community in collaborative efforts to end the cycle of abuse and neglect.
