Global Health Elective
During their second years, residents participate in an elective rotation. Residents can pursue a variety of different projects during this time. Most residents use the elective rotation to work on research projects. Residents can also schedule time with faculty to pursue extra experience in a particular clinical area. Residents planning to apply for fellowships have also scheduled off site rotations in their areas of clinical interest.
Up to two residents each academic year also have the opportunity to pursue a Global Health Elective in Guatemala under the mentorship of Dr. Gretchen Heinrichs. The elective experience is focused on global health research but also includes a small clinical component. For more information please visit the CU Center for Global Health website.
Great Family Planning Training
Starting in intern year, residents have great experiences in family planning. This program is a Ryan Program and residents truly benefit from the opportunities that this provides.
Whether residents choose to participate fully in abortion care, opt out, or anywhere in between, the training is outstanding and residents have abundant access to training in contraception and abortion care.
