STUDIES FOR WOMEN
BLAST: A study of artery health in pre- and postmenopausal women.
BONE: A study of the effects of exercise and ibuprofen on bone density.
FLARE: A study of metabolism in women undergoing liposuction of the hips and thighs.
POWER: A study of the effects of estrogen and exercise on body fat.
SCALE: A study of the effects of estrogen and weight loss on the stress hormone cortisol.
SHAPE: A study of sex hormones and artery health in pre-, peri-, and postmenopausal women.
SPARX: A study to determine whether or not individuals who have been recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease (PD), and have not yet started drug treatment, can successfully take part in an aerobic exercise program .
TEMPUS: A study of the effects of estrogen on insulin metabolism in women a few years past menopause and those many years past menopause.
STUDIES FOR MEN
DHEA: A study of the supplement DHEA on bone, muscle, and fat.
TEAM: A study of testosterone and exercise in men.
STUDIES FOR WOMEN AND MEN
MOXI: A study of ibuprofen affects in muscle and bone mass in response to exercise training.
POEM: A study of Pioglitazone or exercise to treat memory function.
