Division of Geriatric Medicine

The University of Colorado's effort to enhance the development of primary care and interdisciplinary care at Anschutz Medical Campus entails providing core support to the Division of Geriatric Medicine.

The division receives backing from the Chancellor, the Deans of the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing and Graduate Education, as well as University Hospital. Governance is provided by the Deans Council, plus the Chancellor and a University Hospital Representative.

Faculty at the Division of Geriatrics come from each of the schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and the College of Nursing. Additionally, several key faculty from the other CU schools, University of Denver, Denver Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center and community affiliates retain Center on Aging membership.

 

The Geriatrics IMAGE Group studies is looking for participants:

The TEMPUS Research Study
(Timing Estrogen after Menopause)

The IMAGE Group at the University of Colorado is currently recruiting healthy postmenopausal women between 45-70 years of age for the TEMPUS study.  This study will test whether the effects of estrogen on insulin metabolism (diabetes risk) is different in women who are only a few years past menopause compared to women who are many years past menopause. (COMIRB protocol #11-0788).
